DON’T TAKE THE SHORTCUT (Ptr.Yaw Tam)

Hi, friends! How things are going on? I hope everything looks ok. Praise God for leading us to a new year with new blessings. And thank you all leaders and Ptr. Sangte for giving me this time. I hope this 5 P will exalt you all to speed up your boring life. Let us see them according to the Bible.
P1: Path (Ps. 119: 32), P2: Patience (Hb. 12:1-2), P3: Principle (ICor. 9:26), P4: Prize (Phi.3:14), and P5: Pride.
Christian life is not a way of short cut living. It is a long way running process like a runner preparing for the next marathon race. A marathon has its rule and disciplines for the runners. If a runner, he/she must follow the principles of the marathon. In the same way, if a Christian runner, he/she must obey the principles of the WORD of GOD. Life is not a shortcut living. It is like a step by step running race.
Step1. “Let us run in the Path.” Walking on the spiritual pathway makes a healthier life. Even when your inner mind is tired, don’t get boring. Just take relax and go on for the second step.
Step 2. “ Let us run with Patience.” No matter so many disappointments and trials we face in the wilderness long run. We must press forward without flagging, not murmuring even when we are tired.
Step 3. “Let us run with Principles.” Look forward. Respect the rules and follow the principles systematically. Don’t get yourself wrong and be right back on the pathway. Then go on for the next step.
Step 4. “Let us run till we get the Prize.” This is the final decision. Please don’t stop. Move forward for the final step. Now the goal is welcoming you with the prize. The reward is great for you if you are the race winner.
Step 5. “ Let us run with the Pride.” Don’t be very proud of yourself with the prize. And just take relax for a moment if you feel tired. Don’t think the race is end here. Again, be ready to prepare for the next level.
I know everybody likes shortcut. Shortcut is good for media players. But a shortcut may lead us to wrong direction if we follow it many times. Somebody may say, “I am born with a well-trained Christian family I don’t need this 5 P anymore.” It is totally wrong. Christian life is not one time running process. It is on the move steadily running. This text once again reminds us not to jump up from the shortcut steps but to follow the principles for reaching the race in our daily life.
May God bless you all!
